My personal experience with stress and burnout led me to Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction 13 years ago. Through multiple 8 week courses I learned to overcome my insomnia, hypertension, and other stress-related challenges. I have since deepened my practice, studying with leading teachers such as Jon Kabat-Zinn, Bob Stahl, Eckhart Tolle, Tara Brach, James Baraz, and Kristin Neff. I am trained to teach Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction and have participated in many silent retreats focusing on Insight Meditation. For the past eight years, I have been dedicated to sharing these tools in various settings, primarily via Zoom since the pandemic. I hold a Master’s in Spiritual Psychology from the University of Santa Monica, am a graduate of the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Professional Teacher Training Program (A.R.T. Mindful Programs), The Practicum in Mind-Body Medicine through the University of Massachusetts Center for Mindfulness, and the year-long Applied Compassion Training at Stanford Medical’s Center for Compassion and Altruism Research and Education.
After 20 years in Silicon Valley, my wife and I relocated to Huntsville, Alabama, to be closer to family. While I cherished my time in California, learning from renowned mindfulness teachers and participating in many retreats (Spirit Rock, Insight Meditation and Retreat Center, and Land of Medicine Buddha), the Bay Area's challenges led us to seek a change. We now divide our time between Huntsville and France, my wife's home country. In addition to teaching, I enjoy disc golf, nature therapy, movies, and mindful cooking.
